Water Steps

A refreshing break along Riverfront Park

The Water Steps are a refreshing feature of Riverfront Park, the large public park along the Ohio River just across from Point State Park on the North Side/North Shore. Built by the Joseph B. Fay Company, an i+iconUSA subsidiary, this 8,000-square-foot sandstone water feature is a concrete basin with intricate curves and several levels upon which blocks of Butler sandstone and veneer are laid. Fay also built a 40-foot-long pedestrian bridge crossing the Water Steps with 16-foot-high architectural concrete pillars at its corners.
