Venture Outdoors is a non-profit organization working to make it easier for Pittsburghers to get outside and get active. They offer more than 500 public programs a year including kayaking, hiking, biking, snowshoeing, flyfishing, cross-country skiing and geocaching trips. Venture Outdoors has activities for all ages and skill levels, and they travel to local, city, county and state parks around the region to offer members a chance to experience the great outdoors in all parts of Pennsylvania. Venture Outdoors also owns and operates two other enterprises: Kayak Pittsburgh, a kayak rental concession under the Roberto Clemente Bridge near PNC Park, and Climb Pittsburgh, a portable climbing-wall service. They also host several popular events throughout the year, including as the Venture Outdoors Festival and the Banff Mountain Film Festival. Venture Outdoors makes southwestern PA's unique natural amenities more accessible, fosters an appreciation for the environment, inspires more active lifestyles and creates a sense of community.
"In Pittsburgh you can reach your goals faster than in other cities. People here want to see others succeed."
