Toy Lending Library

The Pittsburgh Toy Lending Library (PTLL) was established in 1974 by a group of parents who saw the need for an organization that would lend out toys, educate the community as to the importance of play for the development of children, and provide a place for children and their parents/caregivers to play together. The PTLL is a cooperative run by selfless volunteers. Located in the Shadyside neighborhood of Pittsburgh, the PTLL playspace features abundant toys that encourage imaginative play, gross-motor development, and artistic expression. They have a lending library of over 400 toys that children can borrow for home use and also offer spaces for members and non-members to host private birthday parties.
