At nearly 650,000 square feet, PNC Firstside Center opened in 2000 as the largest building and the first financial institution in the United States to receive the prestigious LEED®-
certification by the U.S. Green Building Council. The technology-driven facility was constructed on the site of an abandoned riverfront rail yard and supports many of PNC's customers and businesses nationwide. The building is energy efficient, offers high-quality indoor air and was constructed with recycled and local building materials. In addition to 11-foot windows, which provide 90 percent of employees with an outside view, the building houses The O'Brien Family (child care) Center and New Mothers' Rooms for nursing mothers.
