Pittsburgh International Airport

The Pittsburgh International Airport offers daily nonstop flights to New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Houston, Detroit, Philadelphia, Phoenix and several destinations in Florida. With nearly 4 million people boarding flights each year, the airport has seen long-term decrease in enplanements due to US Airways "de-hubbing" of PIT -- a phenomenon that has affected most mid-sized cities in the Northeast and Midwest over the past generation.

Still, the airport is new and well-maintained, and many people in the Pittsburgh region would visit purely to shop at its Airmall (with prices guaranteed to match those found in non-airport franchises) prior to security changes in 2001 that restricted access to the Airmall to ticketed passengers.
