Founded in 1985, the Pittsburgh AIDS Task Force (PATF) supports and empowers all individuals living with HIV/AIDS. It's mission is to prevent the spread of infection and remove its negative stigma to help those in need. The PATF offers support, information, and testing, and it collaborates with organizations and consumers to educate the community on the concepts of AIDS and HIV. It is the oldest and largest AIDS service organization in Southwestern Pennsylvania, and it makes a point of interacting with local residents, universities, and companies.
“What makes Pittsburgh unique is the intense pride, not only in who they were, but what they are now and where they’re going. There’s optimism about the city that’s contagious.”
