In 2012, Pittsburgh's Market Square was remodeled into a European-style plaza fit for dining, shopping and leisure. No longer the down-at-heel bus throughway that marked the 1980s and 1990s, the square now boasts destination dining with something for everyone's time and price range, including The Original Oyster House, Dunkin Donuts, Il Pizzaiolo and Primanti Brothers. The Pittsburgh Downtown Partnership programs summer events, including farmers' markets, weekly acoustic concerts and holiday market during the December holidays. The square borders on PPG suite of office buildings and is convenient to offices, gyms, salons, convenience stores and banks.

“You hear that Pittsburgh is a city of neighborhoods, but you don’t realize it until you come here and see that each one really has a personality and there’s a place for everyone.”
