Also known as the Eliza Furnace Trail, the ‘Jail Trail' is actually a sub-section of the Three Rivers Heritage Trail system that runs throughout Pittsburgh. This section of the trail is paved and has a multi-purpose use and runs along Second Avenue, parallel to the Monongahela River. It got the nickname “Jail Trail” because it runs right by the Allegheny County Prison on its way Downtown from Oakland. The Jail Trail is perfect for beginner bikers and joggers to get some quick exercise in because it is mostly flat. It also allows direct access onto the Hot Metal Bridge and into South Side.

“Pittsburgh is a big enough city to explore endlessly, but small enough for a community artist and advocate to make an impact.”
