Conceived by the modern languages program at Carnegie Mellon University, El Circulo Juvenil de Cultura is a space for Latino families to connect with one another in the community. It supports the development and maintenance of the Spanish language and culture for children of Latino families who live in a largely English-speaking community. It creates an environment for bilingual children to explore their role and identity within both cultures and languages to gain confidence and pride in their heritage. The group emphasizes the importance of the arts to enhance the relationship between the two cultures through music, poetry, stories, and dance.
